January 23rd 2021 is a Saturday so it's unlikely. March 12th 2021 is another possibility or December 3rd 2021.

My guess is December 2021 because Warner has an animated event scheduled.

I wonder if might be released for 2020? It's unlikely but if Fantastic Beasts 3 is delayed to say summer 2020 then Space Jam 2 could be released in November 2020

I could totally see this taking Fantastic Beasts 3's place on that pre-Thanksgiving weekend frame if they're about to start shooting in the coming months.

Another good reason to release it in 2020 is that it's Bug Bunny's 80th birthday in that year so what way to celebrate it than a Looney Tunes movie.

Still November is stacked with family competition, with Vivo and Rugrats the weeks before and Dragon Empire 5 days later.

If Space Jam 2 does get the slot, one or two of those will move. I'd probably say Rugrats which could move to February 2021

Space Jam 2 should get a late 2020 release with that June filming date.

Your theory about it taking FB3’s slot may happen but November has become a clusterfuck of animated movies (Vivo on the 6th, Rugrats on the 13th, SJ2 on the 20th and Dragon Empire on the 25th).

It might not be November as WB also has The Witches which could be another contender although I think The Witches would be better in late September or October.
