Any idea about when reviews start popping up?

I don't expect great reviews. The first Equalizer had only 60% and 5.7/10. The audience score was (much) better with 76% and 3.9/5 (RT).

A critic from Portugal already watched it and she liked it but didn't love it.

I also think she broke the Embargo, lol. Anyway, I can't find that review anymore ( probably got deleted ) but it said the action was violent and the third act was very predictable.

I can't wait for it.

In Germany, we have to wait another month (!), same in France, so cheating isn't possible this time ;). Often the previews are on Wednesday here and then certain websites send members 3 days before some in advance-infos (positive surprise - mediocre - bad).

It's good to hear that the first review is ok but I will watch it anyway because of the first one and the nice trailers.

Good question. I was thinking about the same thing. How many hours left?

Either less than 3 or 6 depending what timezone.

Budget is 62 million according to Scott Mendelson...

That seems fine. Movie will probably make a profit, hopefully. Writer is already talking about a possible third movie to finish the trilogy.

If they really went cheaper for this than the first one unadjusted, that would show they had really realistic expectation and should be fine has long it does not collapse oversea.

62m is almost exactly Equalizer 63m budget, the nature of the financing seem to have changed a bit with no Lone Star/Village road Show involved.

Equalizer 1 had a studio break even point at 118.4m WW with a budget + participation cost of 67.8m and a 75m world release budget

It had a Return break set at $164m WW (82 dbo/82 intl), for a profit of 17.14m around that point and a actual movie budget raising at 72m with Denzel/Fuqua making more money.

When I bought my ticket on Wednesday, no other tickets had been purchased in the auditorium. When I got there (6pm showing today), I would say the theater was at least 50% full which surprised me. Movie was ok. Denzel is great in it (when isn't he great?)

Be able to check it out Sunday afternoon. I'm not buying the "boring" claims, by some reviewers. They got ADD 🤣. They claimed that First Purge lacked action. Not only did I find it very entertaining,  but it has the breakout villain of the franchise, Skeletor.
