tawasal
The music in this is just beyond awesome. Edited February 28, 2014 by Captawasal
Dementeleus
So is the music in this one. (Bonus: see how many "big names" you can spot in the credits)
dashrendar44
For some reasons, I've always liked MIB opening titles, the notion of playing with scale linked to Elfman's quirky main title.(I fucking love how the intro segues into the main theme at '46)
AniNate
Technically they were closing credits (which is pretty much the same "stylized billing block" idea as opening credits, just in reverse), but I really liked The Lego Movie's. dashrendar44
(Bonus: see how many "big names" you can spot in the credits) I only know Dan O'Bannon (Scriptwriter of Alien fame), Ron Cobb (Designer of Blade Runner fame) and Nick Castle (Carpenter's buddy who came with the Mike Myers mask on Halloween). dashrendar44
I literally weeped when "Little Miss Sunshine" credit card appeared on screen.
Dementeleus
I only know Dan O'Bannon (Scriptwriter of Alien fame), Ron Cobb (Designer of Blade Runner fame) and Nick Castle (Carpenter's buddy who came with the Mike Myers mask on Halloween). I guess the others aren't necessarily "big names", but most of them went on to have pretty productive movie careers. Bill Taylor became a VFX guy (Public Enemies, Tokyo Drift, Narnia, Bourne Identity, etc), Douglas Knapp ended up a camera op and DP, and so forth. Not too shabby for a glorified student project!

cozmeesah
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qN8kUGETTFA Mostly because the music makes it. The song is perfect for the visuals.
Jawa
I can't find a video for it, but the Adventures of Tintin had pretty cool opening credits/music. Edited February 28, 2014 by Jawa
Kvikk Lunsj
I'll keep it simple what are some of your favorite or more memorable opening credit sequences: First up Damn it you already took mine.
