LexJoker
Son of God opened to a impressive $1.2 million Thursday night at the North American box office. That was enough to beat the $720,000 earned by Liam Neeson's action pic Non-Stop. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-son-god-dazzles-684373
Hiccup
Good numbers for both. I am expecting Son of God to be frontloaded.

Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted February 28, 2014 Founder / Operator Share Posted February 28, 2014 Tough to gauge where either one is going. I still feel happy with my $31.5m prediction for Non-Stop, but nervous about SOG.
Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted February 28, 2014 Founder / Operator Share Posted February 28, 2014 SOG may well end up going north of $20m this weekend, but we have to keep in mind Thursday's shows included some of those $4.5m in pre-sales. The question is... how much?

CJohn
Liam Neeson must get those 30M. Son of God will have a legendary drop on Saturday.

iceroll
That's pretty huge for SOG. Still seems kind of dumb to me that you pay for a condensed version of something that's already on TV and it didn't even get that great reception in the first place. Now the RT score for it is 24%... not that the churchgoers would care.

TLK
I am going to say that Son Of God will not be frontloaded on Friday. Religious movies do very well on Saturdays and Sundays. The talk is that the ticket sales have been spread out and a lot of the presales aren't even for the opening weekend.
Chewy
I expect it to be frontloaded, it goes for a fairly "niche" audience. Churchgoers aren't that niche. There are quite a lot of them, actually
Jim Shorts
Son of God will have a legendary drop on Saturday. More likely on Sunday when the churchgoers this film is aimed at, will be at....church.

Fancyarcher
Churchgoers aren't that niche. There are quite a lot of them, actually Yeah, but its like a "black movie". They go one weekend and then they don't do again (though this film has a limited release). Edited February 28, 2014 by Fancyarcher
