Given this low start I’m wondering if Deadpool 2 will stay at #1 for the weekend. It could’ve very close. (I could be wrong but I expect it’s 2nd weekend to land between 5m and 7m. )

RTH said in the UK thread that DP2's Friday was above Solo's Friday. Depending on how the rest of the weekend plays out, it could be possible

Thanks @Nova

for reference.....

Solo 1st two days be around 2.5,  DP2 Fri will be about 88% of Solo Fri (Aus DP2 was higher on Fri, NZ Fri two very close)

yeah, I'd say it's a chance...

DP2 was just under $1m on Wednesday so it would have been similar on Thursday. Without midnights Solo and DP2 were probably pretty close on Thursday.

I’m on both being $5-6m

I'm with you on this... Terrible numbers (but for some reason not very surprising) for Solo.  Not to shabby for Mr Pool.  Now how close will IW get to 60m this weekend ?

59M for IW if I’m not wrong about exchange rate. NO.3 all time.

Small victories.

It’s over two thirds of TFA’s opening day.

Deadpool 2 beat Solo on Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Deadpool 2 should be back on top this weekend.

That would be better than DP1's 3rd weekend in Australia of $3.1M

Even though it had a lower opening weekend. :sarah:

I think Titanic gets to AUD65m if you add Titanic 3D.

Going forward 2 x $50m+ films per year looks to be the new normal.
