Demon Slayer sales are huge in 3 theaters I checked. May be $400K OD. Donno how it will trend, but if normal may be A$2M weekend.

Which theatres? It looks like it's doing well in quite a few locations, CBD areas, the western suburbs in Sydney etc...

Yeah just checked Village Cinemas there's a decent amount of showtimes for Raya. One of the disadvantages of the simultaneous Disney+ Premiere Access though is Disney can't delay the release like they normally would to take advantage of the school holidays.

Nomadland has showtimes as well which I'm very happy about

Biggest anime film since Pokemon: The First Movie. It will probably drop a fair bit this weekend. There's only so many anime fans around and I suspect most of them will have seen it on OW. But even a 60% drop takes it to $3m, so maybe $4m total? That still leaves it as one of the top 10 post-reopening movies.

Something odd is going on with Urban Cinefile, it was back for a week or two after having been gone for several months. But now it's gone again, again. I assumed they paid their bills or whatever and the site would be around for at least another year, but now I'm uncertain.

Spider-man 3 being the only big film on Christmas. If it miss A$60M, that will be awful, considering even WW84 is able to do A$25M.

Since we don't have HBO Max I expect Matrix 4 to do good business. Encanto will probably release on Boxing Day like most other WDAS films should do decently too.
