ITALY (Botteghino): 'Kung Fu Panda 4' stronger than predecessor

Recommended Posts

Ice Age made 2,01 € back in 2009 (but these are actuals and Minions is estimated at 1,98 M € - it should pass it).

At this Point 8 M € Ow has become the new target.

Filmovie, if it gets an 8m euro OW, how much total can it make?

Italy Box Office for Minions

REPORT BASED ON ESTIMATES

It was released yesterday in Italian cinemas Minions and obviously has done a bang, thanks to the end of August that schools still closed, allows excellent midweek.

The Universal Pictures film (which is having a golden year in Italy) gathered yesterday 1.97 million euro in nearly 800 theaters monitored (over the weekend will be about 940), obtaining the extraordinary average of 2,500 euro per room . These numbers are really impressive: not a record, but almost. Ice Age 3 in August 2009 picked up € 2 million on the opening day and ended up close to around 29 million euro; Madagascar 3 August 2013 opened with 1.4 million and closed at around 22 million.

I predicted almost 25M dollars (around 22M euros) some weeks ago. In a country where the top animated films are the Ice Age and Madagascar junks and cinema is just an extension of television, Minions can't fail. Good job, Italy!

Yes, 22 M could be absolutely right, but obviously it's too early to tell

Actuals are in! It seems Minions did break Ice Age's OD day record by collecting 2.05m euro on its opening day - Filmovie/Henry/Zamor please confirm if this is indeed the record for highest opening day for an animated film in Italy.

ITALIA BOX OFFICE REPORT

Yesterday became the third animated film to exceed a billion dollars globally (over 330 million in the USA). However, the run continues even in Italy for  Minions ,  a spin-off of the saga of Despicable Me  again by Illumination Entertainment's Chris Meledandri, and directed by  Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda.

After the incredible collection of 2.05 million Euros of the opening day (Thursday, as updated), it does not stop the phenomenon and here comes the data on Friday. Accomplices schools closed and crowded shows at any time of day, we talk about other than EUR 1,560,000 collected yesterday in the 810 screens monitored, with the incredible average of almost 2 thousand euro per copy.
