Godzilla: Friday $0.59m (2 days $1.38m). Pacific Rim Opening Weekend $1.31m. Godzilla only needed 2 days (Thu + Fri) to beat Pacific Rim's OW

According by ANICA, admissions during "festa del cinema" are up 17% from previous 8-days numbers (1-8 may vs 9-16 may), but down 11% from last year. They note that thursday 16 (Godzilla opening) have a +166% boost from thursday 9 (weak movies openings). We hope they have finally understood that the key of success isn't good marketing or other promotional activities, but good movies played.

Exactly, 3 €. It was a discount day. It looks like it happens once or twice a year ;-)

Every year in may we have a super discount 8-days called "festa del cinema": 3€ for 2D and 5€ for 3D.

In past years have been opened some big multiplex, where people spend more money in pizza, popcorn and drinks ( which are more expensive than everywhere) than in tickets. So for cinema guys is very important that people goes to cinema as much as possible even if they loss some money in tickets discount.

In 2011 xmen first class was a disaster with a weak € 2.749.017 gross. The new xmen had better cast and strong marketing here, so I think is very hard to do worse.

You can't compare admission to admission if you are selling your tickeds for 3€ and now for 8€ it's normal you wil have much more admission for a movie when it only cost 3€ so I would say they are quite even;
