Based on BOM, Coco has grossed $9.5 million after 2 weekends with a strong hold on its 2nd weekend. Is this better than expected and what total is it on track for here?

Still thinking about 11M euros total, this weekend's drop should be harsh (dailies aren't too good, and it looks like it's losing many showtimes).

In line with expectations I guess, as the Disney Xmas movie here isn't too successful when it doesn't have a princess as the main character.

Anyway:

Ready Player One opened yesterday with €255k and 38k adm. It's expected to win the easter weekend.

 

At the end of next month it will be Sorrentino (with his new movie about the life of Silvio Berlusconi) vs Avengers. 

"Loro 1" comes out a day earlier, more or less with the same numbers of screens (600-650, maybe Avengers a bit more).

"Loro 2" (the movie is divided in two chapters) is coming out two weeks later, very unusual.

 

Loro 1 - April 24, Tuesday

Avengers - April 25, Wednesday

Loro 2 - May 10, Thursday

 

It also happened in 2013, when La Grande Bellezza (The Great Beauty, Best foreign picture 2014) came out with Fast & Furious, and it earned €8m, before the Oscar and the Golden Globe.

I am the thread manager and I tend to change the title whenever there is news about the Italian box office. I do not have time to look up stuff myself about the Italian box office and I don't speak Italian so it would not be the easiest thing to do. I don't think anyone should be complaining that I haven't changed the thread title, since there have only been 2 posts in the last 2 months. Seriously, this thread is a joke and I'm sure there are Italians or Italian-speaking people that visit this forum so it should really be their responsibility to post stuff here. When they do that, I will update the thread title accordingly.

Released in only 61 theaters according to mojo, Disney do seem to have cut their lost on that one.
