Avatar: The Way of Water | 16 DEC 2022 | Don't worry guys, critics like it

JC fans should be humble and talk less this time after the double pwnage they got with Alita and Terminator. I know JC didn't direct those, but he was the producer and involved pretty heavily at one point or another.

If Alita and Terminator were bonafide hits then you would have gotten the bragging rights like those DC and MCU fans, but it is complete opposite.

Just pray that the movie turns out well and critics show support (of late critics especially female ones have not wholeheartdly supported the films he is involved with. Alita and Terminator are anyday as good if not better than some of the MCU films which get 80+ easily..) otherwise things will get ugly in Dec 2021.

In 95, Cameron wrote and produced Strange Days, that movie made 8 million. In 97 he directed Titanic, that movie made 1.8 billion. In 2002 he produced Solaris, that movie made 30 million. In 2009 he directed a movie called Avatar, that movie made 2.7 billion.

See a pattern here? Seeing Alita and Terminator being hits would have been a nice bonus but it doesn't change anything. Cameron is a famous director before all else.

By the way how's 21 Bridges doing? Surely with the Russo Brothers producing and Chadwick Boseman in the lead (Black Panther himself!), that shit has got to be a hit right?

Lol. This will give us the correct picture. Whether people are truly interested in this series. Will this trend? Will there be lots of fans and questions LIVE? If this fails like Terminator and Alita live twitter sessions then we are in for a rough December 2021.

It's a Q&A for a standalone movie that was released 10 years ago, I don't think the interest level of this event will "trend", it's more for the die hards imo. The real barometer will be that first teaser or trailer for the sequel and the amount of buzz it generates. We still have a long wait for that event.

I was like who the heck is Simon Franglen...

*does a google search*

He did a lot of collaborating with famous composers including Horner but there's not much that is his own, it seems.

Hmm, makes sense since he was involved in Avatar. We'll see how he does as the main film composer. Wish him luck.
