He sold the rights before even making T1. I think it was a stipulation to get the movie made with him as director. It certainly wasn't for monetary reasons since Terminator rights weren't worth anything at the time.It's not really his fault others run the franchise to the ground.

Yep.He never got the rights to Terminator.He sold them to be able to direct the script of the first one.ANything that happened after T2 was not his choice at all.

Yeah, I'll believe that if it happens. He also said he was gonna start production at the end of 2012 as well.

I'm sure Cameron hopes to get started in 2013 but it doesn't necessarily preclude things from getting in the way. This kind of timetable is easier to believe than the one Weaver was quoted as saying last summer.

He had the chance to buy back the Terminator rights in 2010 and he blew it!
