Pretty sure, Avatar will be delayed until Summer / December 2022. Most likely December 22 as this needs those sweet Christmas legs.

Yep he likes his big epics released for winter runs around the same dates. Still 2021 could still happen.

Flashback?

It must be, I can't think of any other possible scenario. They moved away from that site and at the end of the movie Quaritch pretty much destroys that habitat during the finale.

Avatar sequels will never come out. Avatar sequels will be next New Mutans. :whosad:

What do you mean the Next New Mutants?  Avatar 2 was still in development when New Mutants was even announced and it still might end up being seen two years before we see Avatar 2.

Gonna change some

Domestic: $500mn (The Lion King level)

Overseas: $1100mn (Slightly better than The Lion King in some markets)

China: $500mn

Total: $2100mn.

So I did the "Adjustment to ER" and "Admission Count" last year. As per ER adjustment, Avatar Gross was $2,355mn (84% of Endgame) last year while Admission Count was 285mn (74% of Endgame).

There was doubt among people that ER adjustment is faulty as there's inflation in countries' with ER depletion and I myself had an issue with Admission count that Eastern countries has low ATP and West has higher, which will be giving a true picture in sense of which film was watched more but not in term of money as 20mn admissions in India today are worth $60mn but same will be $250mn in Germany. To overcome that, I am doing Inflation and ER adjustment both. How?

Well, I will be taking the footfalls of the film in a country, and take Endgame's ATP to give adjusted Gross at time of Endgame release. e.g. India, Avatar grossed $27.5mn here in 2010 with admissions around 9mn. Adjusted for ER that gross was $18mn last year.

In the new measure, taking Endgame ATP i.e. $2.9, the gross in 2019's inflation and ER will be $26.1mn.

Similarily for France, Avatar actual gross $176mn with 14.78mn admissions. ER adjusted Gross will be $149mn while at Endgame's ATP i.e. $8.92 with Avatar's admissions, we have $132mn.

Using this approach, the Gross of Avatar adjusted for today's ATP is $2,423mn in 2019 i.e. 87% of Avengers: Endgame.

This is the best approach there is. It account for inflation and Exchange Rate both. So in conclusion.

Avatar is 74% of Avengers: Endgame in Admissions

Avatar is 84% of Avengers: Endgame in Adjustment to Exchange Rates

Avatar is 86% of Avengers: Endgame in Inflation and ER adjustment.

From Jon Landau - Facebook

A couple of behind the scenes stills of Jim giving the actors direction before they dive underwater to capture performances for a scene from the Avatar sequels. What is the white stuff on the water surface? They are small white balls that are needed to prevent the lights from above contaminating the performance capture system below… while still allowing anyone below to surface safely through them should the need arise.

gotta respect ol' Jimbo's commitment to making actors do miserable and uncomfortable underwater scenes

Unless New Zealand lifts their travel restrictions and the mandatory 14 day quarantine, the US crew that needs to go over will be staying put for a while longer.
