Toy Story 4 | June 20, 2019 | 6th most profitable movie of 2019. Disney does it again!

Recommended Posts

I saw it today and I can tell you it's been incredible, most of you know this at that point anyway but I personally relate with the story and particularly the moving end.

This movie is an amazing  mix of beauty, humor, sadness, joy..they hit all the emotional points and they do it in such a natural way, it's extremely well crafted from beginning to end.

Soo Guys after a few month later of seeing the movie I have a question for you. WITHOUT SPOILING Did ya kinda feel conflicted by the ending of Toy Story 4 because the overall theme of Toy Story Film Series about sticking together and loyality to your toy owners and your fellow toys from the previous 3 movies? Weather you did or not - Did ya think the opening scene and the ending final scene felt the strongest.. everything else was hit or miss.... with a few laughs? Did ya Guys felt this was more of a epilogue or entertaining but kind of unnecessary cash grab?

I honestly felt sad and conflicted by the end of the movie walking out to my car after seeing it. There were some big laughs and a good Pixar story but not great Pixar story. I Think the more I think of it in the past 3 months now I think Frozen 2 is gonna dominate the oscars this year. Leaving Pixar to win the Oscars for the Pete doctor era of original films next year and next decade.

Basically How I felt during my movie review (Internally) and processing it after seeing it in the past 3 months ago.

I still thought this film is Pixar good but not one if it's greats.

Still it'll get Nominated for Best Animated Feature.

Toy Story 4 was the first in many installments that the Pixar films have become highly sought after by many fans. A movie that has been seen by many who have never seen the movie before and some who have. Some people enjoy the animated movies as a child, but don't like the toys, and so want to go to the movies as a grown-up and see all new toys they don't have as adults. This makes the movie a special experience.

From my perspective animation is the greatest art form of all time, from the way it practically combines all the arts in one, or to how it’s the fullest art there is in the way you create all of life on screen.

No other animated franchise has been continuously garnering critical acclaim (all 4 entries above 96%) and have each entry top its predecessor at the box office let alone 4 times (in the space of decades) and have 2 $1B grossing entries

Toy Story eats alone.

And this against 2010’s exchange rates, mighty impressive. It is really a genre-defining saga, carrying the legacy into another decade.

I'd say this has cemented TS as Pixar's biggest OS franchise. Looks like this will come close to TS3 OS, which is their highest OS grosser. With a massive 1.1b WW haul, I'd say TS5 is all but confirmed at this point. Won't even be surprised if it's the next sequel they make.

Absolutely there should be TS5. Buzz should take center stage and the supporting original cast need to have bigger roles

And outside of the 3D boom

But still had inflation and an expanded market. It's impressive but we can't pretend it isn't easier to make 1b in 2019 than 2010

Animation flicks are not the most popular movie in expanding markets. That said Toy Story 4 did much better than TS3 in Latin America. It is also effected by $ strength this year. The fact that it squeaked by TS3 WW with 3D being dead and $ being so strong plus the fact that it was supposedly “not wanted” sequel made its run very impressive. Just look at Dory OS. It dropped in most markets from Nemo despite 13 years of inflation !!!!
