I don't think you can compare Inception to TDKR, but I'm no expert, Corpse knows the most about the market around here.

They marketed the crap out of TDKR in Japan... Also, like the rest of the world, TDK grew on people on home media more than at the BO.Inception did tons to make Nolan a brand name.

Brazil opening was fine, on par with IA4(6.1m) and ASM(6.6m), but much lower than Avengers(10.8m), and 3D movies are having a huge boost there. It was 50% bigger than TDK opening (4.4m).

Russia and Germany came below expectations.Japan did great.And with Obon holidays coming up, it will finish with a great total.

Obon holidays will benefit to The Avengers, they decided to release it in Japan to benefit from these holidays, TDKR will lose many screens and WOM will be on The Avengers side, so don't expect a big increase for TDKR..

Movies are always released late in Japan, it's not a big deal.

If TDKR is holding well, it'll keep more of its screens though. Not to mention TA is in 3D, and if Corpse is to be believed, 3D is a turn-off. I'm also pretty sure TA doesn't get the full week of holidays, although that may have changed.

No, and 3D movies don't crash, it's like France : we don't like 3D but 3D movies are pretty successful because when we're interested in a movie we watch it anyway.

Agree.BTW The Avengers already crushed TDKR DOM,OS and WW so it doesn't need Japan so much, it's just for the symbol.
