Thanks for putting this here, BA good Film by Aronofsky. The direction is brilliant and it moves smoothly from beautiful images (the beach near Coney Island) to all of the bizarre and horrific sequences. The only issue with it is that at times, it relies on clichés (faceless people chasing our main character, the idea that he's a neurotic genius.)3/4

Pi is a typical directorial debut that opens with a great half hour that sets up something intriguing, but then falls into an exercise of style without a real point. It's a shame because it has a ton of potential going into the second act but it immediately falls apart in countless subplots and a lack of any focus. The filmmaking is well-done, and the score is great, but the story just isn't there. Pi is an interesting beginning to a famous filmmaker, but it ultimately left me wanting a lot more. C-

 

(Also: the main theme of the soundtrack sounds just like The Powerpuff Girls theme song.)
