THE MARTIAN | Oct 2, 2015 | Will compete as a comedy at the Golden Globes

I would like to add that Prometheus is better as well.

It's easily more atmospheric, has better performances and slightly more engaging characters, far better visuals, people are not explaining what they are going to do/are doing with examples every half hour and we don't have to endure things like

let one die or risk the lives of 5 people

or

it is so important to tell Hermes's crew that Damon is alive, SO IMPORTANT!

, the story is not so horribly cliche, etc.

Prometheus way more interesting overall.

Copied my post from the wknd thread:

I LOVED The Martian! Better than the book, and much better than the grossly overrated Gravity (sorry Sandy, you still hold a special place in my heart!). Watney sometimes came off as smug in the book and his humor felt forced at times, but Damon makes it work. All of it works -- the action, the thrills, the suspense, the emotional journey, the disco music (the song that plays over the end credits LMAO).

And where are the dweebs who said Jessica Chastain is barely in the movie?? WTF.

Go King Ridley! Fingers crossed that WOM carries this to $200M+ DBO.

The Martian is Ridley Scott's 23rd film and, adjusted, it will probably end being his 4th most successful film unless Martian develops very sexy legs & manage to reach Hannibal, Alien heights.

Gladiator seems safe but who knows ?
