THE MARTIAN | Oct 2, 2015 | Will compete as a comedy at the Golden Globes

I have Gravity on Blu-Ray and "Re-entry" scene is still powerful and cathartic. The chills and tears were still as genuine as my first theater viewing. There is something almost religious like witnessing a (re)birth or a resurrection after living through hell and despair. That frame of the burning debris blazing their fiery trails over the graceful mother Earth's blue orbit is visually superb, breathtaking and so evocative. The wonders of Nature and science are a tremendous spiritual experience to reckon with, whether you are atheist/pantheist/monotheist/polytheist, it's like a metaphorical depiction how cellular life was born on Earth. (Like Bullock stumbling on the shore out of the water hammered home). And Steven Price's music is still epic whether it be a giant or a small screen.

Price's music ending the movie is close to perfect.

I may have to watch the movie again. The music alone got me misty-eyed.

A true masterpiece for the ages

The hate against Gravity in this thread over the past few weeks has been downright ridiculous to say the least. Makes me happy The Martian didn't get the October OW record (despite it being a very good movie).

Well I can play the reverse and say that the Gravity love has been downright ridiculous

Yeah.... Every time we have people saying they don't like it we have at least one or two people coming to its defense so... Yeah

One or two people defending a movie they like? That's ridiculous love for Gravity?

If that's ridiculous Id love to know your opinion of debates over Interstellar and Man of Steel.

You are all wrong. Gravity was a movie made solely to sell 3D tickets and hopes putting cool visuals on the screen will make you forget what a boring movie it is.

I... what?

Like, if the visuals are immersive and entertaining to someone, then the film is, by definition, not boring to them.

Man of Steel is better than Interstellar.

But Man of Steel is still garbage.
