Interestingly, I saw on Rangerboard today that Screen Rant is predicting a $600M WW, and $185M domestic gross.  I am skeptical of both figures.  Just because it is based on a Japanese superhero TV series, does not mean the Japanese are definitely going to see it, especially when it's not using the characters they have known in Japan, but rather someone else's version.  And $185M domestic is basically asking the 2017 Power Rangers movie to perform exactly the same as the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.  Comparing the two franchises, TMNT has done better with its movie series and seems to hold onto its older long time fans better than PR does IMO.

No, Power Rangers is gonna be The Dark Knight and people will take it seriously. Dark & Gritty!
