SpiderByte
So is Netflixs weird gaming thing actually successful? I never saw the appeal tbh.

Most people don't seem to know its there. All these subscription servers will go in this direction due to the obsession over 'minutes watched'. If your subscriber is off playing Spider-Man 2 on their PS5 their not engaged with your content. Its of course going to be a disaster as specialisation matters. Unless they have something new, likie added material, rereleasesof classic movies have a limited box office. The pre video days when Disney reguarlaly rereelased their animated films in theaters are long over.
MovieMan89
I don’t see any harm at all in spreading the 3 out if they’re gonna put them in theaters when Disney is spread thin before 25 anyways. Back to back to back just 100% guarantees they are only going to reach a very niche audience because not many are gonna shell out to see 3 of them that close together. SpiderByte
It's more to make up for not getting released in the first place rather than for an actual serious run

They might as well do the whole classic movie sereis release. Two nights, one performance per night that is used in the cinema classic serieses that major theater chains do.

Agreed, “special event” sort of thing would work far better if they’re not gonna space them out for proper theatrical releases.
AniNate
It's pretty much the same deal as the Disney100 rereleases they were doing earlier this year. I was ticked they weren't a part of that but am pleased they're now in fact getting a longer window than those movies did. I don't really think they're gonna do much beyond a niche anyway especially since they're still gonna be on D+, I'm just happy I'll finally get the chance to see them as intended. There really isn't that much for kids early in the year, I don't think it's that much of a stretch to imagine anyone truly interested in all of them would still buy tickets to all of them. They can always re-release them again later anyway. Edited December 7, 2023 by AniNate

Because nearly half the shows are Disney’s… (though critics are clearly on autopilot when it comes to Only Murders, that show was nothing special this year). Disney didn't have any films on the Motion Picture list in 2019 either, despite their box office dominance that year.

SpiderByte
I can see it. Hulu has a huge library, and not just of theirs/FXs stuff. Their licensed stuff is on it too.
SpiderByte
Ohhh, this is an excellent deal. For those unaware, Greys current streaming deal is that it couldn't stream elsewhere till a period of years after the show ends. Licensing some Disney stuff to Netflix in exchange for Greys is an excellent trade.
Sckathian
Worth pointing out there is now Hulu internationally. It’s all on D+. Disney are just struggling to market it due to their brand. They have it all under ‘Stars’ (will all Fox stuff) - it’s kind of bizzare. You go Marvel, Star Trek, Pixar and then ‘Stars’. I personally think the Disney brand won’t last but that’s just me. (Edit as the platforms name).
