Interstellar OS Thread - $470.7M - $648.8M WW

Recommended Posts

Presales almost doubles TF4 at the point before release in Korea.

Interstelar  97,099

TF4 49,592  (471K OD, 5.30M total admissions)

I think there's a good chance that it opens higher than inception.

SK presales are at 110,813 right now.

All things considered, if it goes under 700M WW it has to be considered a disappointment.

A safe guess would be 225+500=725M WW (about the standard for big blockbusters this year), but an explosion isn't out of question.

Most German reviews are quite good - though especially some of the bigger magazines and newspaper also call it pretentious and there are also a few pretty negative ones.

I would assume it is similar to the US reception.

Doubt this will make much more than half of Inceptions's numbers in Germany (Inception had ~$37Mio). I think it might do a bit more than Gravity ($17Mio). ~$20Mio.

Hey guys!, I'm gonna follow closely Interstellar's run in my country (Colombia), but is not looking good  :(. Pre-sales are way too low and it will be released tomorrow. I'll be happy if it manages to do as much as Gravity here.

Someone from Colombia :o

Welcome :D

Interstellar doesn't excite people in Latin America, it's not just Colombia, in Brazil there is no excitement as well....Only Mexico is likely to give it good numbers in this region because their tastes are closer to US tastes in terms of movies.

Thanks!  :D

I know Sci-Fi is not a strong film genre in latin markets but I was certainly hoping WB could market it here as an action/adventure (a la Inception) but all you can see in the streets are giant billboards with Mcconaughey in a space suit  :(... no space ships or giant waves... still, I live in a country where films like Annabelle (which i like) make 5.4 million while Gone Girl only does 275K so is not entirely a marketing thing.
