Biggest movies in international markets

Recommended Posts

That's only one theater chain, and it's not even the biggest. There are movies that are not released through that chain, like Insurgent. It should be #1 nationwide instead of Cinderella,

You are right. Blitz is way smaller compared to the biggest chain (cineplex 21). If the numbers on wiki are right, it only counts for 10.7% of screens in all over Indonesia. It's better than nothing, but the result could be very different than what they posted.

Boxoffice Mojo lists SW7 with $163,6M, what's the correct number?

It's around $180m.

BOM is really bad with ER's, they simply convert pound to dollar on a weekly basis. You'll notice how from February the gross fluctuates up and down nearly every week. It's a ridiculous system they use. The actual figure should be near $180m. Right at the very end, SW was re-released into a few cinemas, and at this point, the pound was significantly weaker than in May, hence the sudden big fall in dollars, which is actually wrong, and not how it should be converted.

Hm... Would be great to have thread that is about extraordiinary movie runs regardless of the size of the BO market That would feature movies like Your Name as well as Quo vado? I do not have an example of a very big movie in a smaller country, and that isn't so great I think.

But I don't really know how to manage that. It's easy to search for the biggest movies in OS-markets as a total. But to know that a movie is huge in a small country even if it has only $2M. Hm...
