The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies OS Thread | 700M OS passed

Recommended Posts

hopefully the chinese date is relased soon

btw the reviews in Sweden seem to be negative  :(

Hopefully it still gets good $$$$ in Scandinavia

In Germany is a bit better but still kinda meh

Now Im worried  :(

Here the reception seems extatic (based on the rpess screening)    with previous year's exchange rate it could have topped DOS easily  :(

Precisely both Sweden and Germany love Middle Earth. They are maybe the most succesful countries in Europe for Hobbit (in relation to their population). I do not think reviews will affect too much to the gross of the final installment.

I think theyre complaning about the franchise's split into three even though it was just two before and never been a trilogy.

They should take it as it is rather then making that generic obvious comment about 3 parts getting good reviews in the UK as a finale.

http://www.cine-directors.net/boxbis.htm

1.515M admissions forecasted in first 7 days in France

DOS:1,619,517 admissions

AUJ:1,434,119

According BOM and http://www.exchangerates.org.uk/historical/USD/31_12_2012

AUJ OW: $11.1m (December 31st, 2012 exchange rate: 1.32 $/€)

DOS OW: $13.4m (1.38 $/€)

Today, exchange rate it is at 1.24 $/€. If I am not wrong and asuming the same ticket price than in 2012, it would mean nearly the same amount than AUJ: $11m.

No finale bump for BotFA.

What did DH1 and DH2 do? Does anyone know?

DH1 7 days : 2 537 450 admissions (Total : 6 016 776)

DH 2 7 days : 3 129 485 admissions (Total : 6 512 424)

Paris 14h - Admissions

The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug : 5 154

The Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies : 4 718

The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey : 4 370

Paris Périphérie 1 day (admissions)

The Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies : 48 746

The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug : 47 174

The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey : 46 461

It is not enough to avoid a drop in gross, but at least it does not decrease in admissions... for the moment. We will see.

Dont think so, exchange rates dont signify the BO much. The DOS's admissions were more than AUJ's. But when you compare the two, AUJ still grossed higher than DOS in terms of WW gross. (1.017B vs 958M). See, that is a big difference, 59M even though the DOS's admission being the higher one.

It will significantly increase from DOS due to growing China boxoffice plus rising European markets so i can see this film get past 775OS

280 DOM/775 OS for 1.055B WW

I am with Noctis... I dare not go higher than 750 Mio right now. Why do you, Asylus, think the exchange rate will not affect BO? The Euro and Rubel have lost so much compared to the Dollar since last year.

Asyulus not Asylus
