I've never seen Battleship and don't plan on seeing it but I highly doubt the visuals match anything Bay has done.

This series started its downward trajectory ever since that box office magnet Megan Fox was unceremoniously dumped. Jolie and Bullock got nothing on the four-quadrant draw of this goddess.

Given The Rock stole the show in Pain and Gain, I'd have loved for him to have been the lead in a Transformers film. Honeslty, it would suit the tone better. He's ham-acting pro and has uber-charisma. Imagine him as a electrical engineer inventor... He would sell the shit out of it and I'd lap it up wholesale. Not to mention, dude's usually box office Viagra. I know, not in the case of Pain and Gain. But, that's a harder sell to begin with.

It doesn't. It's boring. At least Bay's movies are nice to look at and usually have good action. Battleship has none of that.

Battleship is far worse than anything the Transformers franchise has spat out to date. I'm convinced that the filmmakers were all so desperate to be done with it as quickly as possible that they wrote, shot, and performed the entire thing as a drinking game. (Take a drink for every cliche! Take a drink for every time they rip off another movie! Take a drink any time Rihanna says something inane!)

That was the one awesome moment in the movie. But Berg even fucked that up, after a couple of minutes.
