TR casting was good, but I disagree that it wouldn't have been successful with another actress? MALEFICENT? Yeah, probably true.

They bet on her heavy Tele.. I mean who could have carried Tombraider at that time.

Only actress I know of that could draw BO beyond Jolie at the time is our Pretty Woman star

or Jodie Foster.. And they wouldnt be right for the role.

So though it was a huge VG franchise, you still need Angie to get that BO result, anyone else

wouldnt not have been able to pull a believable action crazy woman like the Dame did.

Mal definitely its all about the dame with a lil help from certain Let it go Princess the world is salvating

over right now.. Especially in Japan lol

If Sigourney was young at the time and could do a brit accent she proably could have outdone Jolie

as Laura Croft perhaps.

Wonder if this weekend will even be able to beat 2011. What a boring box office weekend.

Speaking of Knightley, has anyone here seen BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM? I need someone to share my pain.

Bend it like Beckham was a cultural touchstone in India. A big movie made by an Indian director with a lot of recognizable and famous Indian actors, and a catchy title. It played on Indian stereotypes pretty well. Too bad Gurinder Chaddha squandered all the goodwill from BILB with her horrible followup "Bride and Prejudice".

Did you check her ID and make sure she wasn't too old. young. too young, I said.

She was 17. I was 18. I am sure it was okay. We were also both drunk.
