in general everyone is expecting around $ 200M DOM / $ 500M WW, which will be probably the right number, no crazy expectations with this one

This movie seems to stand in a strange in-between.

How would you rate the popularity of Dumbo's story in the US? The story, not the easily recognisable character design.

Where I grew up the animated film seemed largely overlooked, even moreso nowadays.

 

Even to someone who saw this as a child this seems like something that might come off as "new", even if it's yet another Disney remake.

 

The biggest misery to me is the running time. The original was surprisingly short, so there's room to either add something nice, or make it feel longer than it should be.

Dumbo is cute in this in the best way possible, that is why I believe in a possible break out for this or really great legs.

Dumbo might not be as popular as Aladdin or The Little Mermaid or whatever, but some of ya'll are pushing it a bit. Even if people haven't seen the movie, everyone knows who Dumbo is. The home video sales were on par with Cinderella.

Really unimpressive trailer, but I didn't realise Keaton was in this. That's cool.

Watched Big Fish last night. I really liked how Burton shot the circus scenes, and I'm really looking forward to the visual element of this film. I think it goes without saying that, even if his film turns out bad, its always beautiful to look at.
