How can they avoid animals getting harmed?! For instance the elephant pyramid .... I guess they'd need to cgi them, and Dumbo too, and the crows .... So, it will be animated anyway, no life-action

All right calm down everone!! They just planned the production and started to write the screenplay. Who knows maybe they will change their minds and go for an animation one. If at all it's Live Action wait for first look and trailer & pray that it will be good.

Look on the bright side, this could take the route of the Jungle Book movies and cast A-list thespians for the voices. Perhaps Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Timothy, Meryl Streep as Mrs. Jumbo, and Morgan Freeman as the head crow (changed from a jive-talking racist black stereotype into a wisdom-spouting Morgan Freeman character stereotype). Or if that still comes off as racially insensitive, maybe make them English, and have the leader be voiced by Michael Caine......no, the movie would still be crap.
