Disney's official description is as follows: "Holt Farrier (Farrell) is a former circus star who finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner Max Medici (DeVito) enlists Holt to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when Holt’s children (Parker and Hobbins) discover that Dumbo can fly, persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Keaton) and an aerial artist named Colette Marchant (Green) swoop in to make the peculiar pachyderm a star."

They seem to be doing what they did with Pete's Dragon and creating a new story rather than a straight remake,

Dumbo's a good movie, and with Burton at the helm at least the film looks should nice.

Plus more sleazy Michael Keaton is always a good thing.

I'm pretty excited for this. Been a while since I've really liked one of Burton's movies but this cast is great.

 

Plus baby elephants are the cutest things in the world.

Considering the original one is too short for this to be basically shot for shot, and also cause Burton is helming it...I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm torn between thinking that the core story of this is too strong to mess up and thinking that Ethren Kruger is probably capable of doing just that.

A strong core story can be easily messed up by the added padding to make it more "adult"
