The Futurist
There used to be a saying for directors, you re not a true auteur if you don t have a beard. Now, beards are street cred fo actors.

CoolioD1
Wouldn't want them to rush it just for awards consideration. it's been scorsese's dream project for 3 decades after all.
Spectre
Wouldn't want them to rush it just for awards consideration. it's been scorsese's dream project for 3 decades after all. The thing is Paramount has pretty much nothing on their awards slate right now. I don't know that they'd rush Scorsese on it but you'd think they'd press a bit to get it out this year if possible. CoolioD1
If they try to get it out for this year I'd say they're probably rushing him. Scorsese is not a fast filmmaker. that's why Wolf was pretty close to getting pushed to 2014, and that started filming in the summer of 2012 and this only started filming a few months ago. If paramount want a contender The Big Short makes more sense to rush out. Adam McKay is quicker and it sounds baity and it already wrapped. production. You'd think Paramount woulda learned from last year. if they held Selma off until this year and let it build instead of rushing a campaign it coulda got like 8 nominations. Maybe even won some important stuff.

Jake Gittes
Well, Selma had its premiere the same time as American Sniper. They should have just started campaigning it right out of the gate, from mid-November on. What they did instead, I don't even know what that was.
Ezen Baklattan
They were really desperate to get it out of the gate ASAP. I don't want the same thing to happen here. Wasn't Selma still wrapping up post production around late November?
Joel M
What I wonder is about the movies take on religion. Scorsese had pretty much stopped being contreversial after Goodfellas-Casino for almost 20 years. He made some really good or great movies (most notably Departed but others as well) but they weren't contreversial. Until the WOWS shitstorm showed that he still had it in him to be provocative. The story of Silence doesn't sound anti-chirstian but we can't tell from a synopsis. I wonder if this will be Scorsese vs fanatic religious groups part 2.
