World War Z. So many rewrites and reshoots

Matthew Fox originally had a big supporting role and ended up on screen for 10 seconds

WWZ apparently had the whole 3rd act reshoot. Matthew Fox's role was suppose to expand in that act. It never happens, of course.

That was for the best actually. The movie needed a happy ending (even though the ending made little to no sense if you think about it). Matthew Fox was collateral damage, the WHO scenes are probably the best in the movie and a complete departure from the prior 2 acts.

Talking about WWZ whatever happened to WWZ2.

They appointed a director in December 2013, then nothing post that. It isn't even on Paramount's slate, nothing was even mentioned about it at CinemaCon last week. Guessing they are just happy they didn't take a major writedown on it and don't want to push their luck yet. It surely isn't coming out in the next 18 months, 2017 would be the earliest we would see the sequel if it ever happens.

No media people seem to want to ask Pitt about it either, not a major priority project for anyone currently.

We know it will be a clean slate, whatever that means. Bummer wanted to see where it went.

I thought TMNT was good fun. Had zero expectations going in.

WWZ is the best example of a movie that was somehow saved by reshoots and editing. It looked like it was going to be a disaster both commercially and critically. Atleast that's what the online movie sites and bloggers made it sound like. Loved the movie.
