I just read this in the New York Times :

A movie ticket costs about 380 bolívars. Calculated at the government rate, that is $60. At the black-market rate, it is just 54 cents. Want a large popcorn and soda with that? Depending on how you calculate it, that is either $1.15 or $128.

The minimum wage is 7,421 bolívars a month. That is either a decent $1,178 a month or a miserable $10.60.

--> so the Venezuelan box off numbers are completely false in $. The real numbers are something like 100 times lower

Exactly this.

I Know, but apparently BOM is calculating the Venezuelan # with our second ER ($1=Bs12.3), I'm ok with it, I think it's less... unreal

And here it is, Our Top 10 of 2015.

These numbers seems so inconsistent.  Is each studio doing their ow valuation?   Why would the avg ticket price for Transylvania 2 be so much bigger than for blockbusters and more adult skewing movies?

Maybe Sony use a different exchange rate than others.

For example, Minions and IO had similar admissions, yet the former made more than double the latter.

CRAZY Inflation, my friend. ;)

I save my tickets, I paid Bs. 120 for Kingsman and last week, Bs 425 for SW: TFA in the same cinema. Both in 2D.

Then, is the numbers the one providing the right #'s for the venezuelan BO?

Minions (The Numbers):

Really ... Maybe it was proportionally the worst opening for The Little Prince so far, very disappointing for the film. Remembering that this animation (The Little Prince) is already the most successful French animation history, has done decent in most areas hit Star Wars this weekend in Italy.

I expected more from Venezuela. :(
