The Rock as Black Adam is also a pretty big ante

Black Adam is getting a solo film so I reckon they'll building up to an eventual crossover film similar to how Kong Skull Island and Godzilla II is laying the groundwork for Godzilla vs Kong.

Shazam is looking at under 200 OS. Has to be more than just China as antman did like 330 OS right?

$105,000,000 in China, $21,000,000 in South Korea, $25,000,000 in the UK, $13,300,000 in France, $11,500,000 in Russia, $11,000,000 in Australia, $10,000,000 in Japan

$55,000,000 less in China, $15,000,000 less in South Korea, $12,000,000 less in the UK, $8,000,000 less in France is already $90,000,000 less. Shazam opens in Japan a week before Endgame and has been performing terribly in the rest of Asia. Assume that it even grosses half of Ant-Man's total in Japan, and that is $95,000,000 less. Shazam has grossed $1,300,000 in Australia and $1,900,000 in Russia in just two days while Ant-man opened to $4,000,000 and 4,700,000 there, respectively. It is a good thirty-something or forty percent behind Ant-Man in those markets. If those resemble the total gross, then that is already $100,000,000+ less than Ant-Man. Then Shazam is going to have to gross the same in markets such as Venezuela, Taiwan, Singapore, Mexico, Malaysia, Italy, Hong Kong, Brazil and Argentina, where Ant-Man grossed, $7,000,000, $11,100,000, $4,500,000 and $15,100,000, $6,700,000, $5,300,000, $7,000,000, $12,400,000 and $4,100,000 respectively, just to maintain that gap.

It is hard to predict the future but one thing is for sure: The Rock as Black Adam is never happening, ever.

If Black Adam doesn’t go into production early next year like the rocks producer said then I’ll agree with this. But I hope it does happen cause I like the rock even though he’s not the best actor.

I imagine Black Adam will be very different in tone to Shazam,

For sure. The rock has been very passionate about it for so long I’d be pretty disappointed if we didn’t get to see him in the role. The last time they interviewed the rocks producing partner they said the script was in the polishing phase and they were searching for a director. Maybe we’ll get an announcement before or at sdcc?

Probably they'll announce Shazam 2 and Black Adam at Comic Con. I'm surprised a director hasn't been found yet, I assume they'd want someone who's worked with Johnson before or maybe they'll take a risk with someone who's up and coming,

It’ll be at 100M OS after this weekend. It’s definitely getting past 200M overseas

Yeah. I think he will bring a lot of publicity to the film. His social media following alone is huge and he is very active in promoting his movies.

Yeah. If it makes $100M OS this weekend, it's pretty shocking if it won't even pass $200M OS. That would have been a really terrible leg.
