DC superfan Grace Randolph said that Shazam will have to make $600M+, "even if it's just $601M", to justify continuing Shazam as a movie franchise. She seems to be advocating for a streaming release for the sequel, just like what she suggested for Ant-Man sequel.

Well that person is pretty wrong considering its already confirmed we are getting more from the Shazam universe.

She also spent time saying how general audiences don’t like the film, even while ar the same time having the 91% critic score, audience score and A CinemaScore on screen (?!).

 

A $100m movie doesn’t need to gross $600m to be a hit.

No to defend Grace, but that not what she is saying, over 600m to justify green lighting a sequel, not to break even (and I imagine that assuming that sequels cost more), ridiculously wrong yes but not that level of ridicule and at least consistent with her Ant Man 2 should have been a cheap direct to tv affair.

Even that's silly. 400 million for Shazam is probably about as profitable as Ant Man.
