Eh. Repeated too many bits from the first trailer. Doesn't give any new story information. There's no pacing, the trailer doesn't build to anything. Just a montage of events. Also odd that they are releasing the second trailer just a month before release. Kind of feels like DC is keeping this low-key.

They are reusing footage because there is a huge thing that WB is explicitly not trying to show. Not sure if it is considered a spoiler since WB has announced things that indicate that this thing will happen but nothing explicitly has been shown outside of toy box and funko pop leaks. The movie will be a lot more ambitious than the trailers make it seem. If anyone wants to know what I am talking about, PM me.

Christ Almighty. "Too much new footage! You're spoiling it!". "Not enough new footage! This is a 40 minute episode of a low-budget Arrow-verse show!"

It could very well be that this is under 2 hours - but the trailer isn't an indication of the running time. And if it is a shorter length, not every movie has to be a three hour epic. So many superhero movies suffer from bloat in any case. A 100 minute movie can work just as well as a movie that runs 140+ (or as badly). It's how those minutes flow and how that time is used that make the movie, not the length itself.

Aaaand...I just used a "it's not the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean" type of reasoning.

Shoot me.

I know the trailer isn’t an indication of the runtime, maybe it’s just my impatience at the lack of any new footage. We saw some tidbits in the tv spots already, but still I’m surprised that there isn’t anything worth revealing. They’re holding back the villain and major set pieces for example.

I'd be surprised if this didn't get good reviews, but awareness is so low that ultimately that's not really gonna matter much either way.

Awareness will not be a problem. This new trailer will be attached to Captain Marvel which is destined to be a smash hit. And the marketing will picket up steadily this month up to the release of Shazam.

I don't think Shazam will earn much more than 500M but not due to a lack of awareness.

WB also never saw this movie breaking out hard which is why the movie only got a budget of 80M. If Shazam earns 500M WB will be very happy and pocket the profit they expected from it.
