BOF's Top 100 Animated Films of All Time Ceremony! TOP 10 COUNTDOWN TIME! (p.36)

Marvel movies are way more overrated especially Avengers and now GOTG as well

That's totally understandable. Comic book movies usually get good reactions from everybody here.

Seriously, though. The Frozen fans on here are WAY too fucking obsessed with it.

This is the first weekend Disney didn't post an estimate. Actual is in, though:66 Frozen BV $5,751 -20.4% 9 -3 $639 $400,736,600 $150 34It's a good hold, especially considering it lost 25% of the screens. Also, fun trivia: Frozen has played for 34 weekends and Muppets Most Wanted for 17. Yet the two earned very close to the same amounts, with Muppets getting $5,892 for the weekend. Frozen may earn more next weekend.

There's no denying that.

#70: Robin Hood (1973) - 166 Points

Country of origin: USA (Walt Disney Animation Studios)
Animation style: 2D Traditional
Posted ImagePosted Image
Plot:
The story of the legendary outlaw is portrayed with the characters as humanoid animals.

Iceroll's list trivia:
Robin Hood is the highest ranked Disney animation film from the 1970s on this list. With the exception of The Aristocats, all the 70s Disney movies made it on to the list.

IMDB trivia:
A few months before the film's release, the Disney animators needed Peter Ustinov to come back to the Disney Studios to re-record some of his lines as Prince John. The animators made phone calls to New York, London, Paris, Vienna, and Tokyo, trying to locate Ustinov -- only to discover that he was working at the NBC Studios in Burbank that week, a half-mile down the street from them.

#69: Chicken Run (2000) - 167 Points

Country of origin: UK/USA (Aardman Animations/Dreamworks Animation)
Animation style: Stop Motion
Posted ImagePosted Image
Plot:
Chicken Run is a comedy escape drama with a touch of passion set on a sinister Yorks chicken farm in 1950s England.

Iceroll's list trivia:
Since Arthur Christmas narrowly missed the Top 100, Chicken Run is the first Aardman Animations production to make the list.

IMDB trivia:
There was a major push to get the film nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. The failure to get the nomination, and the popularity of the film among Academy members led to the inclusion of Best Animated Feature for the next Academy Awards (2002), which was won by fellow Dreamworks film Shrek (2001).

BOF User Review:
Really nice one. The chickens aren't as adorable as, say, Wallace&Gromit, but it's a fun movie with excellent pace, good gags and some of the best stop-motion ever done.

#68: Ice Age (2002) - 173 Points

Country of origin: USA (Blue Sky)
Animation style: 3D Computer Generated
Posted ImagePosted Image
Plot:
Set during the Ice Age, a sabertooth tiger, a sloth, and a wooly mammoth find a lost human infant, and they try to return him to his tribe.

Iceroll's list trivia:
Ice Age is the only film in its franchise to make the Top 100. Like most franchises, the position decreases with each sequel as follows: Ice Age 2 #118, Ice Age 3 #120, Ice Age 4 #218 (ouch).

IMDB trivia:
The drawings of characters during the end credit roll were all done by the children of the animators. The same is true of the picture that Sid draws of himself on a cave wall. Sid's drawing was done by 3 year old Will Shefelman, son of a story artist Dan Shefelman. The story artist working on the scene was having difficulty drawing like a 3 year old so he consulted an expert.

Iceroll's list trivia:
Despicable Me 2 is by far the highest grossing film on the list so far.

The actors are filmed the entire time they read their parts. Their facial and hand expressions are used on screen. Steve Carell's wife had fun pointing out the expressions in Gru that reminded her of Steve.
