I totally pointed out GOTG's Sunday estimate was too high yesterday.

 

Oh well, its good to be right. It's still a fantastic number for Guardians.

Look at this way, in recent years, most movies that opened to ~$17M, that werent horrors, cleared $50M. Given GOTG competition and Labor Day, its pretty much assured at this point.

GOTG=Massive flop. ;)I just remembered most of the discussion was that sub-30% drop for GOTG was incredible and definitely locked it for $300 mil. I'm still being cautious, but good to know others with better skills than I are saying it's locked. I noticed, actually that the estimates were rather high for IIS on Sunday too. There's part of me wondering whether some of the West Coast numbers were softer than expected. I wasn't sure about blaming the earthquake, but it possibly could've affected attendance, a little bit at least.
