Ent
GOTG crossing 300m DOM will be the story of the year, no doubt. I even havent seen the movie, will wait for the bluray. But the fact it's outgrossing the already very successful Winter Soldier by a wide margin is incredible. August can carry blockbusters, 12 years after Signs. Good news for Hollywood, i guess. Actually the biggest august BO is for The Sixth Sense. That movie had the leggiest legs...like x9 multiplier and reached $293M after a $26M opening weekend. pepsa
Yep, if Rth takes a break from posting numbers until November, no great harm. And if Rth is reading this: thanks for the numbers you do give us. Yes, Rth thank you for all the numbers! Enjoy the rest!

miketheavenger
Wow, GOTG might actually outgross Iron Man when it's all said and done. I don't think even the greatest optimists in their wildest dreams could have ever imagined a result like that.

baumer
GOTG will be number one again next weekend and Turtles will be number two. WTF is The Identical? Another music biopic about a group no one has heard of? And the poster has a Bollywood looking young Johnny Cash on the poster. Jake Gittes
It's really sad that that's the kind of work Ashley Judd and Joe Pantoliano get nowadays.

In another dimension, of course. In ours there is a good chance it opens under Forrest Gump IMAX

druv10
GOTG 3.7M Friday (137%) 5.92M Saturday (60%) 6.52M Sunday (10%) 5.85M Monday (-10%) 16.1M/21.95M 280.25M total after Labor Day weekend. 300M would be pretty much locked in this scenario and with a very good shot at passing 318M+ by IM1. Probably finishes around 320-325M. Another home run for Marvel and Disney.
