That seems solid for The Maze Runner. Should do around $30M for the weekend.

 

A Walk Among the Tombstones likely won't do more than $15M but it was always gonna be a tougher sell than Neeson's previous action vehicles.

Thats a decent number considering summer weekdays are over and a 10pm start. I doubt it will be frontloaded like other YA adaptions

If you consider last years september movies, we learned that it can be pretty backloaded. Just look at Insidious 2. Also, Riddick wasn't that frontloaded, compared to other movies of that kind.

Yeah... I'm actually hoping $35+mil. for Maze Runner. I want it to do better than solid. Seems like it's surprised most of the reviewers too.Dylan O'Brien is a star in the making. No way to project though from this number, as others have stated. I think it might be best to wait and see what Saturday looks like.

I was hoping for a bit more but that's fine too. If it manages to open over 30M, it might have a shot at 100M total, considering the only direct competition would come from Dracula Untold, that openes in 3 weeks. After that it would have another 3 weeks of almost no direct competition and I think it could keep IMAX to itself till Interstellar.

$30m+ would be very good that would put in the top five or 10 of September openers. Will be interesting if The Equalizer can crack over $30m+, next week it's doable IMO.

Maze Runner will turn on a good profit from overseas alone..so whatever it does in North America is a solid result already (can't be less than 60 mil anyway) so Fox are pretty happy

 

I think Tombstones will have real decent legs
