Weekend Prediction thread 4/26-4/28 Play the Derby

Recommended Posts

American Sniper was an Oscar-nominated film (the Oscar nominations were announced the day before Sniper opened wide) directed by iconic director Clint Eastwood starring it-guy Bradley Cooper. (Also 30 POUNDS! HE GAINED 30 POUNDS!)

13 Hours hasn't even been screened for critics yet, is directed by Michael Bay who the GP knows as "the guy who does explosions", and has no major movie stars.

Hardly a fair comparison.

It has the best reviews of the weekend yeah it lacks star power but it should be a profit.

The only trailer I've seen is The Fifth Wave-which I've seen at about 3 or 4 films! And its trailer gets worse each time.

You haven't seen the Dirty Grandpa trailer? I've seen it at Sisters and The Revenant. It's corny as hell but I hope the film will be received better, like A Million Ways to Die in the West did.

The Fifth Wave is going be yet another failed YA book franchise.

That the trailer looked like they swiped plot points from just about every Alien Invasion film every made did not help matters. You have to show audiences you are bringing something new to the table...and the trailer failed miserably.
