Weekend Prediction thread 3/12-3/14 Play the Derby

Recommended Posts

Wow that is pretty low for Jumanji. I can’t see it dropping that much from the previous. (The only comparison I could think of was Museum 2 but that came out in May causing it to drop a bit more then it would of in December and part 1 didn’t make as much as Jumanji)

That's fine, don't worry. I didn't take it personally. I was calculating Friday-Sunday grosses, but I may have to revise it a bit. But I do expect sharp declines for all the films on monday, tuesday and wednesday. Thursday-Friday should be strong and then typical Saturday-Sunday I guess.

I see. I was just thinking that based on previous Thanksgiving weekends, the 3-day (F,S,S) gross should be pretty close to the previous week for movies already in theaters. A potential sub 10% drop

I'm going to be so weirdly entertained by next weekend for this reason. Ironic because, as @Maxmoser3 put it, the first weekend of December/post-Thanksgiving weekend or two is usually a holiday dead zone so what could I possibly be entertained by? Well, when you have a film that looks to be so useless at the box office and misplaced on the calendar, even by this particular weekend's standards, well.....you get a potential real box office story. Just...not the good kind. But a story nonetheless! I want to see just how low this one goes.
