How To Get Away With Murder | ABC

Recommended Posts

Annalise Keating (Academy-Award Nominee Viola Davis) is everything you hope your Criminal Law professor will be - brilliant, passionate, creative and charismatic. She's also everything you don't expect - sexy, glamorous, unpredictable and dangerous. As fearless in the courtroom as she is in the classroom, Annalise is a defense attorney who represents the most hardened, violent criminals - people who've committed everything from fraud to arson to murder - and she'll do almost anything to win their freedom. On the surface, Annalise seems like she has it all - a successful career and loving husband, Sam (Tom Verica) - but her relationship with a local Philadelphia detective, Nate (Billy Brown), will force her to confront secrets about her life she never saw coming.

The premiere of How to Get Away with Murder scored a phenomenal 3.8 Nielsen rating, right on par with its hit lead-in, Scandal. The show deserves every viewer. It's smart, sexy and shocking, Davis gave an intense and passionate performance as Keating, a law professor who plays to win and drives her students mercilessly in her attempts to mold them in her own image. The rest of the cast was also stellar, delivering the goods that the spectacular script provided them.

ABC has another Thursday night winner. With great writing and awards-caliber acting, HTGAWM should stay high in the Nielsens all season.

The plot was so biting off Legally Blonde, but if the pace keeps up it will be a good way to spend an hour every week. The people nitpicking the law school/courtroom storyline are ridiculous: were they really expecting anything approaching realism from a show called How to Get Away With Murder on the Shonda Rhimes drama block? You should have known the writers here probably got their legal knowledge by watching Law & Order marathons.

Annalise is such a badass and Viola is killing it in the role. So far, the law students aren't standing out except for Dean Thomas, I mean, Wes. The Scooby Gang are super dumb if they think burning a body out in the woods with some lighter fluid will destroy its DNA. I wonder if they found the body at Professor Keating's house, figure she did it and took it upon themselves to cover for her.

I thought it was a very good pilot. Good performances from young, unknown talent, an intriguing story, and a fast pace that keeps the story moving without overwhelming with new information.

I can see it being the new 'it' show.

And yeah, let's talk about ratings. The whole TGIT campaign has paid off massively. Grey's Anatomy has defeated ABC's death slot of Thursdays at 8pm, and it has entered its ELEVENTH season with a 3.1...with more viewers than any episode in the entire season ten!

Scandal has reached its series high on its fourth season, and 'Murder' has already matched Scandal's highest mark in the pilot...and got more viewers than Scandal in its entire run!

Really? I think he's a terrible actor. He always looks so confused.
