Gone Girl  added $27M from 6,253 screens in 52 markets for an international cume after two frames of $63.25M. David Fincher’s screen transfer of Gillian Flynn’s bestseller opened in 14 new markets with notable debuts in France of $3.59M on 463 screens, and Spain where it was No. 2 behind Sony’s local hit Torrente 5. There it earned $1.56M on 372 plays. Each of the 14 new markets were above Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Word of mouth kept the psychological drama holding strong in the UK ($5M, -15%),Australia ($3.8M, -12%), Germany ($2.1M, -19%), Mexico ($850K, -12%), Hong Kong ($508K, -3%), Sweden ($482K, -19%), and the Netherlands ($482K, +5%). Next frame sees 7 new markets release. Korea, Japan, and Italy are scheduled from mid-October through December.

Fox’s Gone Girl had new openings this weekend in the UAE and Israel (both were No. 1s) and overall uncovered $20.23M from 5,040 screens in 57 markets. The UKcontinues as the most avid territory with an added $3.88M at 800 plays. The cume there is now $23.2M and the film was No. 2 in the frame. Australia, where David Fincher’s psychological thriller was No. 1 for the 3rd consecutive weekend, is the 2nd market with an extra $2.84M for a $14.8M cume. Drops elsewhere were slight with No. 3 market Russia down 39% ($9.08M cume); Germany dipping 19% ($7.54M cume); and Taiwan up 33% ($2.05M cume). Hong Kong and Singapore are both steady at No. 1, defying the fast-burn nature of the markets. The international cume now stands at $94.7M, with releases in Korea, Italy, and Japan still to come.

Gone Girl crossed $100m as $18.4m from 59 markets elevated the running total to $118.3m. South Korea delivered a $3.8m number one debut from 645 screens while the UK generated a further $2.5m in the fourth weekend to reach $27.5m and rank third.

France added $1.9m for $9.2m after three, Australia $1.9m for $16.9m after four and Germany $1.2m for $8.9m after four. There are five markets to go including Japan and Italy in December.

Gone Girl brought in a further $15.3m from 50 for $142.9m and arrived in India in third place on $610,000. The mystery stayed top in its second weekend in South Korea after $4.1m propelled the tally to $9.3m nand ranks third in France on $1.8m for $11.5m after four. The UK generated $1.7m for $31.2m after five and ranks fourth. Australia and Germany have delivered $19.1m and $10.5m after five sessions each.
