Also Sandberg doing Superman is gonna be a great fit

I'd honestly rather take a Sandberg directed Shazam movie with Superman in a supporting role rather than another Superman movie directed by someone else that's probably gonna miss the mark again.

Sandberg using Superman in Shazam! 2 sounds infinitely more appealing than JJ doing a remake of 1978's Superman, just with more Palpatine this time

Particulary with Cavill being rumored to be one of the top candidates to be the next James Bond .....

It would be a scheduling nightmare waiting to happen if he got the part.

Just one Bond film takes as long to shoot as a whole season of The Witcher (I don't think it unlikely The Witcher could reach a season 5), and if he gets at least 2 more Superman films, that would be another 4-5 months of filming each.

The news has been ridiculously  well received.

Don't be fucking stupid, WB - people want MOS 2 way more than SHAZAM 2 lol WTF.

Another solo Superman with Cavill would be amazing but Shazam 2 is also appreciated

After the amazing success of The Witcher, Cavill is very hot right now.

Warner should sign him up for something.

Who knows what kind of viewership it's getting for Netflix, but it's far from some universally-praised, success-of-the year.

Cavill was unfortunately cast too late and treated too ill in his Superman appearances to really make a difference of longevity to his career.  I think his contract options are probably up soon (2020 would make sense, three years since JL), and he's playing nice in one last-ditch hope that Warners reconsiders.  I'd say it's 99.9% likely they won't.

The Witcher was a success, but acting like it's another GOT and has made Cavill a BIg Time Player is fan silliness at it's most unrealistic.

David Corenswet Superman would have ruled, tbh

He was so bland in Hollywood, a ton of actors out there would've done much more with that part. Cavill's far from the world's greatest actor but he fits Superman much better in comparison imo.

John Campea said on his show JJ is doing the next Superman man film , though could just be BR and not him directing.

But seems odd that JJ would not want to recast.

JJ wanted Cavill as Superman way back in 2004-05 when he was doing Superman. This would just be him getting his wish almost 2 decades later.
