I posted this last night in the weekend prediction thread, but for the people in this thread who care about theater counts, I'll copy it here:

 

 

 

 

for the poeple who care about this stuff, expect some of the smaller theater counts for new (and expanding) movies to look like this:

 

 

Men, Women, and Children - 600

Kill the Messenger - 400-450

Meet the Mormons - 300-350

St Vincent - 75

The Two Faces of January - 50

A Matter of Faith - 25

The Blue Room - 24

Whiplash - 21

Rudderless - 15

Young Ones - 15

Dear White People - 15

Birdman - 4

The Tale of Princess Kaguya - 2

 

 

note: most of these are estimations, not official obviously

(Blue Room, Whiplash, and Birdman numbers are from Boxofficemojo)

Okay, let's see how I did according to BOM:

 

Men, Women, and Children - 608

Kill the Messenger - 427

St Vincent - 68

Dear White People - 11

 

 

Unfortunately, these are the only 4 numbers they have up to compare to my guesses. Not too shabby.
