The funny thing to me is, I've been tracking twitter reactions today - they're almost 100% positive. Reviews are more mixed (although still positive overall).

Bottom line - I really think this movie should have great WOM.

Opening on par or better than Age of Ultron in France...told you guys, this is gonna breakout big in Europe. Everywhere in fact...I cant see a single big market where this isnt huge. Almost all big blockbusters have some big market that underperforms, if slightly. Here doesnt look to happen.

 

Honestly, 800m+ OS wouldnt shock me at all.

Universal's Jurassic World stomped to an impressive $24.5 million on its first day of play internationally, including $17.2 million in China.

The $150 million tentpole — opening 22 years after Steven Spielberg's first Jurassic Park hit theaters — stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson and Omar Sy and Irrfan Khan. B.D. Wong is the only actor from any of the previous films to reprise his role.

Jurassic World earned $21 million on Wednesday in the eight markets where it debuted and $3.5 million from previews in 12 additional markets.

This is the 6th biggest debut for a foreign film ever in China and is the 3rd ever non-Chinese pic to cross 100M yuan on its first day where the opening didn’t fall on a weekend or national holiday. That’s of particular note. JW opened on a work-day Wednesday as opposed to, for example, Universal’s reigning champ Furious 7, which bowed on a Sunday.
