I'm still seeing this despite the mixed reviews so far just because Jake G. is the man, but I don't think it makes much of an impact at the box office given the competition it faces. Something around $40-50M should be acceptable enough.

Which was a laughable fight apparently where the wrong person was said to have won...

The figures say boxing can still be relevant with the right fights.

'The long-awaited showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao generated more than 4.4m pay-per-view buys, nearly doubling the previous record of 2.48m for the 2007 fight between Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya.

The welterweight title unification fight also yielded more than $400m in domestic pay-per-view revenue – a figure no doubt bolstered by the $99 price tag – to nearly triple the $150m generated by Mayweather’s win over Canelo Alvarez in 2013.'

Huge crowds and high rollers in Las Vegas for the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight helped Nevada casinos make more than $1 billion off gamblers in May, according to records released Friday.

So the right boxing movie can still attract audiences too. Look at The Fighter, or the positive response to the Creed trailer.
