The Stingray
Im willing to bet this is another Babadook, amazing reviews, poor horror movie Horror movies only seem to be good nowadays when they add humour. Scares are non-existent in todays horrors, or maybe ive just grown up. I think it's the latter. Past a certain age you just don't scare easily. Btw, I agree with you that Babadook wasn't scary, but I still think it's a good movie.

Btw, I agree with you that Babadook wasn't scary, but I still think it's a good movie. It's more creepy than scary and yes, it's a very good film.
baumer
I still think you can scare people. Or maybe I just scare easily. Babadook was anything but.
Bishop54
I still think you can scare people. Or maybe I just scare easily. Babadook was anything but. It's not one of your unsophisticated slasher films, so if you were looking for that of course you weren't going to enjoy it.
Alpha
Babadook had an atmosphere that stuck with me afterwards. I'm hoping this film delivers in that department as well.
Hatebox
I scare easily and don't enjoy being scared, so don't watch horror movies at the cinema. Were that not the case I'd probably watch this.

The Stingray
It's not a horror film. And yes, I was looking for a horror film. It's psychological horror, baumer. Like Rosemary's Baby or something. Or is that not horror either? Edited February 24, 2015 by The Stingray
seduh
I love The Babadook, it was a great film. I hope this film imitates it

CoolioD1
why are we even talking about the babadook here? just because this is another horror that got good reviews? I'm not sure they're comparable beyond that. btw I'm not really on either team regarding the babadook. I thought it was just ok. essie davis was spectacular though.

If there isn't a hockey mask or bladed fingers involved it isn't horror.

RichWS
Suppose I might roll out for this. Only horror flick I've paid to see in the last 5 years was The Conjuring.
JohnnyGossamer
Seeing It Follows and What We Do In The Shadows this coming Monday. Hoping both are my tempo. Oh... People are mentioning Babadook because it was low budget horror film from a young, unknown filmmaker that picked up steam at film festivals just like It Follows. Blankments
Went into this without knowing anything except the STD allegory. Fucking fantastic that's what it is, and I'm not a horror fan
tonytr87
Greatest horror film I've seen in a long time. Not the absolute scariest, but it's got ten times more style and talent than the majority of the genre.
