First trailer for THE GALLOWS opening in July from Blumhouse and New Line:

http://youtu.be/_QM2f5VksNU This looks very promising. Very creepy teaser trailer. The trailer has 3.6million views on Facebook since Thursday.

The trailer for M Night Shyamalan's THE VISIT played before UNFRIENDED this past weekend, trailer due online next week. Killer grandparents, hmmm. Poster here: https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/3350eu/teaser_poster_for_m_night_shyamalans_the_visit/

UNFRIENDED opened with $16,000,000 at number 3 this weekend. No break out like I expected but still a win. Production budget $1m and marketing less than usual due to target online/ social media. Biggest original horror debut since The Conjuring in summer 2013 according to BOM. That's sad.

From last year, THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN will be released on DVD/BluRay on July 7th in the U.S. It opened in UK cinemas last Friday.

Maybe POLTERGEIST on May 22nd can give us a good opening weekend. The genre needs it this year. While Woman In Black 2 and Lazarus Effect did OK, It Follows did great in limited release, Unfriended has started really well, horror needs a big hit.

I'm so dissapointed with Unfriended, I thought It would be big.

What you guys think will be the first hit horror movie of year? Sinister 2?

How big Exactly and why? Don't get me wrong I just didn't see it making past 20 Million opening weekend.

I thought Unfriended would do $30m plus because of the trailer views and social media buzz. (65million trailer views evidently don't mean a break out).

Unfriended is a hit. It Follows is a hit. Lazarus Effect will profit. No budget for Woman In Black. So far we haven't had a wide release open less than $10m, so that's something.

I think Poltergeist will do well, Insidious will drop due to being a prequel and different cast/story. Sinister 2 will drop slightly, but not by much.

The Gallows could go either way. New Line are usually good at marketing horror. Will be interesting to see how they work with Blumhouse.
