Melvin Frohike
PENGUINS OF MADAGASCAR passed the $50M domestic mark on Tuesday after grossing $0.652M for the day. #PenguinsOfMadagascar — BoxOffice (@BoxOffice) December 10, 2014 It's currently running a 16% deficit against Rise of the Guardians, which will give it a sub-$100M final DOM gross unless it improves. Most still expect things to get even worse for Penguins of Madagascar, though (less than $90M or even less than $80M). This is like watching a train wreck frame by frame. Mango
Losing IMAX (along with probably its first big theater count drop that weekend) will definitely hurt Interstellar come next weekend, but luckily for it the Christmas/New Years stretch should more than help it rebound from that from the theaters still playing it (I imagine around 1500, give or take a couple of hundred). $180 million is all but locked.
miketheavenger
It's really awesome that Interstellar has been holding up so well. Expectations pre-release may have been higher for it domestically, but $180 million for a nearly three-hour-long, original sci-fi film is nothing to be ashamed about at all IMO.

I think $175m is locked. Beyond that, who knows.
