That is a try how copying excel might look like and to show how they do calculate the dom HV out of the dom BO

exceptions TMNT and Divergent

But TMNT has very 'expensive' mistakes in their chart anyway, didn't check Divergent

Terrestrial has been showing the Deadline top 20 most valuable movies here with their financials. It has been very interesting. I went to Deadline and added up what the big studios profited in total from the top 20 most profitable movies, and here are the results:

1. Disney - $748.47 M

2. Warner Bros.- $675.44 M

3. Fox- $429.4 M

4. Paramount- $378.66 M

5. Lionsgate- $283.47 M

6. Sony- $214.88 M

7. Universal- $136.05 M

8. DreamWorks Animation- $107.3 M

Terestrial, you can share the excel file in a publicly shared folder in dropbox or onedrive

Dropbox uses amazon mass storage (and some other details) = a big nono for me

Onedrive = I have to read 'through' the details, might be a possibility when I buy my new mobile. What I do not like is them seemingly ignoring our privacy laws here in Germany (according to the Wiki-entry I just read). Not enough input for now

Thank you very much for the suggestion, it might not sound like it, but I do appreciate them very much.

I've seen the 'Paste from Word'.... tabs, thought there might be maybe a possibility to create a ~ html chart (not sure about the correct term).

I'll look into it a bit more in general, sounds like a nice reason for some new stuff to learn

So they only count those movies made over $150M in DOM?

The Maze Runner, Lucy and Fault in Our Stars definitely made more than Divergent.

I have not so much time yesterday and probably partly today, so I only started to really look into their data, but really 'heavy' (term, big, much money differences) mistakes are already clear, Frozen e.g. nears $350m for HV hard discs sales alone....

How are you calculating home video grosses?

Do you mean me?

Not sure what you mean with that, I think deadline uses 40% of BO dom, with some exceptions in 2014 and something less then 40% for 2013 (have to look more into 2013 too).

If looking up the details at The-Numbers.com (I only looked up a few yet) the numbers do not match up. I also have some recollection for TMNT (since baumer was then so into that movie - for some unclear to me reasons - those numbers 'jump into my eye', I haven't even seen the movie) to have read articles about slightly uncommon for today release patterns in release dates for rent and sames, including some praise for its high rental numbers.

= what I meant with looking more into it, going to a deeper search for articles that migh mention HV revenues in dollar and not only chart positions

For me Home Entertainment is hard discs sales and rent and the same per digital (without e.g. TV-streams... = TV)

Some of the foreign BO details are also wrong, see my earlier posts

I finished the list, so people might have a tool for simpler compare themselfes or for seeing more obvious the 'calculation' regularity or....

Ahhh, I think I might get an idea what you might have meant.

Just in case you meant that:

I do not calculate HV, I look up the numbers released via articles and charts,...

I never even had the idea to calculate results out of BO dom or...

If I'd do that, I'd look up as much as I get my hands on on released datas like The-Numbers, look into the exceptions... and declare the method I use and on what I base the method on... in an 'article', or even better, in the charts (too).

I also look up the actual BO numbers, especially the foreign ones and the release dates too and would mention if a run isn't even finalised, maybe even give an upcomming release dates list.

To me the deadline charts look like being sloppyly done.

I am not even happy with the Walmart details not getting released and so on, hence to take even The-Numbers charts with a grain of salt.

Too much depends IMHO on if a movie is e.g. a genre movie a partner might not accompany someone into the cinema = often higher percentage in HV.... Or children's movies... Or if the movie was bad, medium or good in reaching the goal for what the movie was intended to aim for

Wondering if that was what the question was about
