How HV sales used to turn big box office hits into massive box office GIANTS

Considering the regular Blu was $8 and 3D was $10 that should give it a big boost.

Only for Black Friday in it's 8th or 9th week.  I think it's first time I can ever recall that happening with an MCU movie.  They don't even slash the price for Christmas - a "sale" is  $19.99 for the Combo Blu-Ray/3D

Oh definitely, I was surprised Disney let it go on sale. Even last year's "steals" Avengers and IM3 for $10 weren't on sale this year.

Anyone who was hoping that CA-Civil War would become the 6th movie to reach 100M$ on Blu Ray got their hopes slashed with that first week report.  It should be enough to make it into the top 10 Blu Ray and reach 80-85M$ in its first year.  It should also beat GotG for 4th place in the MCU for combined sales and 2nd place on Blu Ray behind the first Avengers.

The next movie to reach 100M$ on Blu Ray should be either Finding Dory or SW Rogue One depending on how the audience likes the movie.  I don't think any movies in the 80M-90M range (JW, ST09, TDKR) at the moment could get a sequel  bump before a new movie reaches it.

Thanksgiving 2016 could also change that...

Sure, not the way The Numbers calculated the $$.  If they calculated they way they did BVS or TFA the first week would be have been $50m B)

Disney is always the most expensive. They never have 10 or 15 buck deals. Fucking Monsters Inc is 25 bucks, so is Bigs life still.

The lowest Ive seen a Marvel movie is Thor 2 for $17.99

Black Friday they had X-men 8 bucks each including APOC, STB was 9, Deadpool was 8, all new releases were 10 and under, but disney... Jungle book and Civil was 20 bucks!

http://variety.com/2016/film/news/universal-warner-bros-theater-owners-early-windows-1201931478/

The studios are looking for ways to bolster home entertainment revenue, which is suffering from an 18% decline in DVD sales.
Bloomberg reported that the time frame being weighed is two weeks to a month and that the price being considered is between $25 and $50. Insiders say that the price is likely to be on the higher end of that range and that a month delay between a film’s theatrical opening and its home entertainment bow is the most likely scenario. Theater owners would get a cut of the revenue in exchange for agreeing to the new windows.
Screening Room has not factored heavily into these latest talks with exhibitors, insiders say. Part of the reason is that the studios are not interested in giving one platform exclusive rights to content. They want the films to be available on iTunes and other retailers.

It's amazing to me how Hocus Pocus has become a perennial Halloween favorite that lives on and on and on; it's become the "All I Want for Christmas" of Halloween films...

This viral video can only help keep the [black] flame alive:

Do you think Deadpool can beat DOFP when it's out in May?

It has a good chance.  First entries tend to do better than sequels, I think it can do about 80% of GotG seeing as the market is probably down 20% since 2014.  90M$ would be a good target between the HV release date and the sequel release date (2 year span).

Another friendly bump, it beat DOFP, but it will end up with more than the 90M$ I predicted.

Anyone fancy a prediction on SW?  With the various reports that we got, passing JW (125M) is a given.   Could it become the first movie to cross 200M combined since Frozen in 2014 or the first live action movie since Avengers in 2013?

I personally think that the floor for TFA is 175M in its first 12 months on the HV market.

Depending on how Thanksgiving, Christmas and the Rogue One boost affect TFA, I think my prediction was pretty much spot on.  Best case scenario, TFA will be just a notch under 200M$ when April comes.
